American (English) remake of the French series HPI ( 2021 )
Plot
It follows Morgan, a single mother of three, and how, thanks to her extraordinary mind, she manages to solve a crime while rearranging evidence during her cleaning shift for the police department.. Despite her very high IQ , an excellent memory and a vast knowledge of arcane matters, Morgan makes a series of basic legal mistakes that anyone who has ever watched a television legal show would know not to make. In the first episode, for example, a document that would never be admissible in court comes out of a locked safe in the suspect-victim’s law office: illegally obtained evidence.
In episode 2, he reminds her to wear gloves before handling crime scene evidence and in episode #2
Furthermore, it could not be used to obtain other evidence: a violation of the “fruit of the poisonous tree” legal doctrine. 3, he removes all documentary evidence from the police station, completely severing the chain of custody and making anything he removed inadmissible in court. She was fired from that job for disrespecting a customer
The original French version, Haut Potential Intellectuel, was much more intelligent. The first episode was pretty much the same as this first episode, except they left out the first part where it’s established that she lacks patience with the people she talks to. It was a job she had in addition to working as a cleaner in the police department.
This might be just as funny because I like Kaitlin Olsen
After that missing scene, the rest of the first episode was pretty much the same. The biggest difference is the main character, Morgan, who is much more eccentric than the one depicted in the American version. After watching the original version, it is extremely difficult not to make comparisons.
